HDI - South Florida continues its Inaugural Year celebration with its Summer doubleheader, featuring University of Miami CIO, Dr. M. Lewis Temares and HDI's Executive Director of Certification & Training, Rick Joslin. In keeping with the event's theme we will raffle off several Marlins tickets and a triple play of I-POD devices.

In recognition of the range, depth of knowledge and experience our two distinguished speakers bring to the plate, we have expanded our schedule and will begin at noon and provide lunch. Dr. Temares will present at 1:00 PM and Mr. Joslin at 2:00 PM.  

The meeting is free and open to the public.  Raffle prizes, including I-PODs™, technical books, HDI memberships will be given away. Food and refreshments will be provided.

Dr. M. Lewis Temares is CIO, Vice President for Information Technology, and Dean Emeritus of the College of Engineering at the University of Miami. His discussion will examine among many topics, the role of the CIO: focus, challenges and leadership of a CIO; Employees - having the right person at the right time in the right place, employees as customers; Change management: changing environments - how to work in a new environment with new tools; the University of Miami as a model; and wrap up with an overview of lessons learned. Rick Joslin is Executive Director of Certification & Training for HDI. Prior to joining HDI, Rick was a Principal Consultant with IHS Support Solutions. His presentation will: show you how to properly integrate capturing, structuring and reusing knowledge into the incident management process; demonstrate how this improves service effectiveness and efficiencies; discuss the challenges of implementing knowledge management and how you can successfully get others to support this initiative, and much more
